Welcome to Embrace Change: A Garden Gate Opening
There comes a moment in every healing journey when you realize you are no longer only surviving what happened.
You are becoming someone new.
Welcome to Embrace Change.
This space was born from lived experience, deep transformation, and the sacred truth that change is not always easy- but it can become beautiful, meaningful, and life-giving when we are supported with love, honesty, and compassion.
Our Journey Began With Choosing Again
For us, Embrace Change began long before it had a name.
It began in the quiet moments of choosing again.
Choosing healing.
Choosing help.
Choosing courage.
Choosing to keep going when our bodies, minds, and spirits were asking for something different.
Through our bariatric wellness journeys, both Jason and I have experienced profound transformation. Together, we have released hundreds of pounds, but the weight loss is only one part of the story.
We have also released old symptoms, old patterns, old survival strategies, old identities, and old ways of moving through the world that no longer fit the lives we are here to create.
This has not been a simple before-and-after story.
It has been a becoming.
A renewing.
A rebuilding.
A remembering.
A return to conscious choice.
More Than Weight Loss
Bariatric surgery gave us a tool. But the deeper work has been learning how to live inside changed bodies with changed needs, changed emotions, changed relationships, changed habits, changed nervous systems, and changed dreams.
That part of the journey deserves tenderness.
It deserves conversation.
It deserves community.
It deserves a place where people can be witnessed not only for how far they have come, but for who they are becoming now.
Why Embrace Change Exists
That is why Embrace Change exists.
We are opening this space as a loving, grounded, peer-support offering for those walking through bariatric transformation, body change, life after surgery, identity shifts, emotional healing, and the ongoing practice of choosing wellness one day at a time.
We are not here as medical providers, therapists, financial advisors, or experts standing above anyone.
We are humans with lived experience, offering human support.
We are here as peers, companions, encouragers, and witnesses.
Healing the Whole Person
We believe healing can be practical and magical.
It can include meal planning and mindset.
Protein goals and prayer.
Movement and meaning.
Nervous system care and celebration.
Accountability and grace.
Body image and body gratitude.
New routines and old grief.
Science, spirit, story, and support.
At Embrace Change, we honor the whole person.
The body that carried you.
The body that changed.
The mind that had to adapt.
The spirit that kept whispering, “There is more life for you.”
The Garden Gate Is Open: A Place for Bariatric Healing, Wellness & Community
This blog will become a living garden of our journey and what we are learning along the way.
Here, we will share reflections, peer-support insights, bariatric life lessons, wellness practices, emotional honesty, encouragement, creative healing, garden wisdom, and the sacred ordinary moments that help us keep choosing life.
We call this place the House of Harmony because that is what we are learning to build — not perfection, not performance, but harmony.
Harmony with the body.
Harmony with change.
Harmony with our choices.
Harmony with our home, our healing, our relationships, and our becoming.
If you are here because your body has changed, your life is changing, or your spirit is asking for something more, you are welcome here.
If you are preparing for bariatric surgery, living after surgery, navigating regain, grief, food changes, identity shifts, menopause, health challenges, emotional healing, or simply trying to understand who you are now, you are welcome here.
If you are tired of doing it alone, you are welcome here.
We are so grateful to begin this next chapter.
This is a garden gate opening.
A beginning.
A blessing.
An invitation to embrace change, not as something to fear, but as something we can learn to walk with, grow with, and become through.
With love, gratitude, and open hearts,
Andrea & Jason
